Wicked C.A.S. Wicked CAS (CAR AUDIO SYSTEMS) We are located in Kingston NH. About a 30 Min. to 45 Minutes ride from Boston MA. We are the guys who make the "Magic Boxes" Vehicle specific Subwoofer enclosures. We will install any stereo you may have or you may want to buy from us. We carry Stereos from $99 to Complete show car stereo systems above $20,000 You name it we have propably done it. I'm glad someone is NOT doing an SR20 swap in a 240. The Ka24e motors get a bad wrap because they were cammed for a pickup truck, not a rear wheel drive sportscar. My dad used to race one and the only issue (which was a rather large issue) we ever had was that because the distributor is located right next to the exhaust manifold, it gets really hot and will sometimes get zapped and run full advanced grenading the engine. One of the dream projects that will likely happen some day is to make a killer NA 240sx using either the single cam or dual cam Ka24 engine.

It's quite the potent engine and if your running a standalone ems system it's actually very easy to ditch the distributor and wire in a lsx COP set-up

Yeah unfortunately the class he was running in required that the type of ignition system remained stock. If I decided to do this project down the road, I would definitely be running a COP system

SR20's have issues too, I particulary remember hearing something about bent cams from a lot of time at high-rev if left stock or something like that.

In the end it's just "fan-boiz" being idiots. 4 things matter in an engine, Power-band, Weight, Reliability, and Harmonics (vibration).


power-band because, the more power you make across your RPM-range the faster you go.
Reliability because, broken engines suck
Weight because, newton sucks
Harmonics because, safety-wires suck

Complaining about anything else is just bull#!#!#!#! idioticy. It's why I'll never complain about an LS-1 240sx build unlike "jdm-tyte you!" morons. I could care less if it's not a nissan or JDM motor. It was put in there to make the car faster. Guess what? it works.

Block was in good shape, so we had it cleaned honed and installed the new hardware. Re-Finished all Engine components to look like or better then new. We had the Manifold Hot coated as well as the hot side of the turbo. No one makes a KA24E fuel rail, so We made one of our own. Valve cover baffle was cleaned and secured. Customer wanted a real quite exhaust and needed to be stealth... So we made a custom exhaust for it. 3" Turbo back with Resonator and a dual outlet Muffler (muffler was chosen by customer). Custom Catch can and overflow was made.

Battery was relocated to the hatch. All pipes powder coated black, including exhaust pipes.

Gauges going in next week with a custom Triple center console pod on top of the radio.
AEM Boost / Wide Band fail safe
AEM Oil Pressure
AEM Fuel Pressure.
All 52mm in center console.

It is also getting a pair of S14 Seats to upgrade the interior.

Wait...are SOHC 2.4s a 12 valve? Why would nissan go through the trouble of having 2 intake valves and only put one exhaust valve? Especially since running two smaller valves tends to normally have less interference and if built right can allow more flow per cylinder than one large valve?

Serious question not hate.

Still trying to understand the A, since most engines I have experience with (not that many) the 4-5 valve setup has always provided more flow.


But in the case of saving money, normally I'd think they'd just go straight for a 8V. Less parts so less manufacturing and less stuff to break.


The safety wiring on the valve cover baffle looks good although a little loose of the upper left corner though. Then again I've seen safety wire on landing gear and turbines that looks like it'd be loose but is actually tight.

I didn't say it always flowed more just explained the reasoning for a 2 intake 1 exhaust setup. 3 valve setups tend to get better economy, cheaper to produce, less physical mass/drag and better heat transfer/lower emissions. The reasons why they went with that setup in this particular instance? I have no idea but my guess would be a combination of the above.

Car is done and delivered. Owner is very happy. He got exactly what he wanted.
About 320 RWHP and 350 TQ
Which is what the plan was...

Car has more in it with more fuel. But we wanted to keep it limited per customers request.
